And there will be another pandemic. We can hope the pandemic playbook that the Biden administration had to reconstruct after the Orange one dismantled it and would again if he were to get into office.
Vaccines help us. I have never had a flu shot but I did receive the vaccine to help prevent the severe affects of Covid.

Yeah, of course.

But given that the most likely source of seriously disruptive pandemics are likely to be coronaviruses or flu viruses a universal vaccine would be a great starting point on making the next pandemic less disruptive than the last.

And a note of reminder that the utility of a universal vaccine would not be to give humans 100% immunity of any or all inbound viruses. Instead it would be to protect against the most severe symptoms. At the rate Covid morphed developing this universal vaccine would be a remarkable feat.

There has been a lot of talk about "universal" coronavirus and flu vaccines based on mRNA technology for the last two or three years.
