My niece at 21 has an auto immune disorder that manifests itself as arthritis. Its hard to see her on such powerful drugs with potentially serious side effects. Prior to diagnose was an equestrian winning many competitions with Olympic hopes and dreams. She started at 10 years old and retired from that sport after hand numbness and pain in her elbow.
Hopefully she has a good support system, like the one your daughter started, among her peer group.

Dealing with chronic pain?
Our daughter has Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and is developing a support system website and podcasts interviewing life stories of other sufferers of chronic pain called "My Spoonie Sisters"... It will also have Spoonie Brothers soon...
