It would be nice if we had competent and engaged elected officials here (both County and State) who wanted to do something about this problem. But alas, ...

Insurance companies are acknowledging the dangers of climate change by cutting off new and even existing coverage in areas hardest hit by climate disasters. But as the list of areas in peril grows there will also come a point where the industry must recognize that there is no safe haven for their coverage not to be impacted. Like all of us, there must be a recognition that everywhere is vulnerable.

The answer is community awareness, involvement and action. Mitigation must become a priority.

Due to fires, or even non-payment, cancellations are on hold for a while. Includes both homeowners and auto policies.
