Trump says he wants to debate politicians and leading editors on election fraud

I'm not happy seeing anyone die unnecessarily, even if I do despise their views.

And we have plenty of laws on the books to save people from themselves, from DWI laws to most drug laws to the laws requiring tuberculosis patients to take their medications. Depending on the state a tuberculosis patient might be indefinitely detained until they are no longer infectious.

They are really both neo-con war-mongers so I’m really losing support for that angle too. As to the pardons, don’t you have to be in office to do that? Maybe Trump is more of a rule of law guy than you will give him credit for. Why will you not review why security was so lax that day? Pelosi was warned and only she could call for support.

Supreme Court ruled in 1866 that a president can perform preemptive pardons. Ford pardoned Nixon who was not under indictment. Probably can't pardon yourself though or Nixon would have done it.


So yea, he could have pardoned anyone who had participated in the January 6th insurrection when he was still president. He could have at least tried, but noooo, he threw them all under the bus.

Well, technically, they didn't leave the Republican party.

The Republican party left them.

The "Republican Party" seems to have a strategy of driving out anyone but true believers and encouraging policies that kill their own voters (Republicans are dying of COVID at approximately three times the rate of Democrats). That doesn't strike me as a winning strategy.

There are a two Replubicans with integrity on that committee. None of the Trump party reps made it on the committee that were participants in the election lie and who got a lot of people fired up enough to try and stop an election certification process by storming the capitol.

Why would those Trump party folks be on a committee that is investigating their role in the insurection?

Of course I see it that way. I've seen a lot of the video evidence and read a bit on the, what was it, 60 court cases alleging election fraud that were thrown out, including the one in front of the US supreme court.

Why didn't Trump issue a blanket pardon to his minions who are now in jail for storming the capitol?

Former President Donald Trump said he wants a "ratings bonanza" debate on election fraud.
In a statement on Sunday, Trump called on top news editors and politicians to debate him.
Trump has continued to push claims of voter irregularities, despite there being no evidence of widespread voter fraud.

Former President Donald Trump on Sunday threw down a challenge to top politicians and news editors to debate him in a TV special on voter fraud.

In a statement released on Twitter via his spokeswoman, Liz Harrington, Trump wrote: "If anyone would like a public debate on the facts, not the fiction, please let me know. It will be a ratings bonanza for television!"

While Trump did not name who, specifically, he would like to debate, he mentioned in the statement that he would be down to "challenge" the leaders of news organizations or "far left politicians, who have perpetuated the Real Big Lie."


"This includes members of the highly partisan Unselect Committee of Democrats who refuse to delve into what caused the January 6th protest — it was the Fake Election results!" Trump wrote.


There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election, and the Trump camp's lawsuits alleging voter fraud in states including Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania have failed.

However, Trump continues to cast doubt on election integrity. On October 15, Trump called for a vote recount in Pima County, Arizona's second-most populous county after Maricopa County.

The former president also continued to claim the Cyber Ninjas' vote recount in Maricopa County uncovered "undeniable evidence" of fraud, despite the Republican-driven audit confirming that President Joe Biden beat Trump by 261 more votes than were initially counted.

Most recently, Trump pushed the same baseless voter-fraud claims during a close to 40-minute long interview with MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, where he expressed approval of the latter's plan to melt down Dominion voting machines and turn them into prison bars.
